SEATTLE (AP) — Jordan Morris had a goal and an assist, Jesus Ferreira scored a goal, and the Seattle Sounders beat FC Dallas 2-1 on Saturday night. Seattle (6-1-1) is unbeaten, with five wins, in its last six games. Andrew Thomas had five saves for the Sounders. Ferreira, on the counter-attack, put away a cross from Morris to open the scoring in the 15th minute. Morris slipped behind the defense, ran onto a ball played ahead by Snyder Brunell and flicked a shot from the center of the area into the net to make it 2-0 in the 30th.Nolan Norris flicked in a header off a corner kick played in by Santiago Moreno to make it 2-1 in the 40th minute. Norris, a 21-year-old homegrown defender, scored his first career goal in his fourth MLS season. Dallas (3-3-4) is winless in four straight. Sam Surridge scored two goals, Hany Mukhtar and Ahmed Qasem each added a goal, and Nashville SC beat Charlotte FC 4-2 on Saturday night. Surridge has nine goals this season, tied with Dallas' Petar Musa for most in MLS. Charlotte FC defender Tim Ream, a U.S. national team regular, missed his second-straight game for the club because of a groin injury.
Kévin Denkey scored twice in the first half to back Roman Celantano and FC Cincinnati blanked the New York Red Bulls 2-0 on Saturday night. Denkey scored with assists from Pavel Bucha and Gerardo Valenzuela in the 40th minute. It was only the third time Cincinnati scored the first goal in a match this season.
Max Arfsten scored in the fifth minute, Patrick Schulte had three saves, and the Columbus Crew beat the Philadelphia Union 2-0 on Saturday night. Schulte had his second shutout this season for the Crew (3-4-3). The Union (1-7-2) had its three-game unbeaten streak snapped.
Louis Munteanu scored his first career goal late in the second half to tie it, and Kye Rowles followed with his first goal for the winner as D.C. United rallied to beat Orlando City 3-2 on Saturday night. DC United (3-4-3) jumped in front in the 10th minute when Jackson Hopkins took a pass from first-year defender Keisuke Kurokawa and scored his first goal of the season.
Lionel Messi and Inter Miami are still waiting for their first win in their new home. Germán Berterame scored off a rebound in the 76th minute and Inter Miami finished in a 1-1 tie with the New England Revolution on Saturday night, keeping the defending MLS Cup champions winless in three matches at their new Miami stadium. The Herons are 0-0-3 in the new building — compared with 5-1-1 in MLS road matches this season.
